

Program Staff and Leadership Team

Dr. Karen Sanzo serves as Old Dominion University's Provost's Fellow for Design Thinking and Strategic Planning. In this capacity, Dr. Sanzo helps to integrate design thinking practices into the implementation of the University's strategic plan. A leading expert in the area of Pk-12 school leadership preparation and recipient of the 2019 Master Professor Award from the University Council for Educational Administration, Dr. Sanzo is a full professor of educational foundations and leadership in the Darden College of Education and Professional Studies. She is also in-demand as a facilitator and consultant for school districts and programs across the country.

Ashanti Cameron serves as the ePortfolio Assistant/Peer Mentor for the Innovate Monarchs program. In this capacity, Ashanti guides and supports participants through the design thinking process and assists them with navigating any technology used. A member of the spring 2020 inaugural Innovate Monarchs cohort, Ashanti brings first-hand experience and insight to this position. Ashanti is a junior majoring in Biology.

Dr. Jenn Grimm serves as Director of Academic Initiatives for the Center for High Impact Practices at Old Dominion University. In this capacity, Dr. Grimm oversees the Impact Learning Communities Program, INNOVATE Programs, and LeADERS program.

Lanah Stafford serves as Director of Planning and Project Management for the Center for High Impact Practices at Old Dominion University. In this capacity, Ms. Stafford supports the development of new initiatives such as the Innovate Monarchs program, ensuring that new programs are designed and implemented in alignment with the eight essential elements of a high-impact practice. She is also a student in the Educational Psychology and Program Evaluation doctoral program at Old Dominion University.
